Usability Inspection Methods - An Introductory Outline

Usability inspection is the collective term used to describe the different methods used by evaluators to inspect a user interface, e.g. a website, and identify problems with usability. This differs to usability testing where real users test the usability of the interface. Usability inspection methods usually aim to identify usability problems at the design stage of a user interface. However, some methods also identify problems such as general usability of a complete system and the severity of usability problems.
